Let’s Begin. It’s never too Late.
Beginning something new can be a little scary. OK, let’s be honest… REALLY scary! And now let’s factor in my age and see how well I feel about starting something new again lol Not super great!
But I had fallen into that trap of believing that because something hasn’t happened by a certain date in time, that suddenly I am inadequate, I have missed the mark, and now it’s “too late”.
Ever felt that way? You’re not alone. In fact, most people today have been trained and wired to think like that. Myself included.
But guess what… there is no true script, or template, or framework for how to live on planet earth. There is no one way to organize your life and operate within it despite what we were taught as kids. Schools taught us what to learn, when to think, and how to show up in this world. But guess what… this isn’t the industrial revolution anymore and most people aren’t working traditional jobs anymore. Kids are making bank off YouTube, adults are creating multiple streams of revenue and if you were really paying attention a few years ago, you may even have some of those passive income streams running in the background of your day to day life. We don’t need to be conditioned for a 9-5 anymore, and that’s even more true for our children.
I am constantly trying to teach my daughter this. Just because the world says “this is the way it’s done” doesn’t make it true. It’s usually the opposite so take note, and be aware. I swear, awareness is everything now a days.
Today, I am 40 years old and I finally get to choose. I get to choose how I view the world, how I get to show up, and what I want to leave my thumbprint on before I’m gone. This world doesn’t get to decide who I am and what I get to do.
It’s up to me. And it’s up to you. If you believe, you can.
And maybe it’s not about being late at all… maybe it’s about finally being ready. 🖤
